Sixth President of the United States of America JOHN QUINCY ADAMS exquisite letter signed as Secretary of State dated August 1824, conveying the commission of William Tudor, Esq., the Consul General for the ports of Lima and Peru. Framed in handsome vintage display. Signed by Adams during the run up to his Presidential election 7 months later. Letter is in pristine condition.

Adams was a busy man and as such often employed the use of secretaries to write letters on his behalf which he would later sign. This is an example of one such letter written by Adams' secretary but authentically signed by him in full at the conclusion. Less than one year later, Adams would succeed James Monroe as the next President of the United States.
