Samuel Adams (1722 – 1803) was an American statesman and Founding Father who helped shape early American political culture. He was a diplomat, political theorist, and a leader of the movement for American independence from Great Britain. Adams's is also fondly remembered by historians for his important role in the Boston Tea Party, one of the turning points in America's fight for Independence.
