17th President of the United States ANDREW JOHNSON striking reproduction CDV from a photograph in Matthew Brady's National Portrait Gallery, featuring authentic cut single-name autograph affixed at bottom, signed as simply, "Johnson".

The copy of the rare original 1873 image depicts Johnson, seated in a 3/4 view with his left hand tucked inside his waistcoat. The popular pose was meant to convey noble leadership, with a calm comportment and firm manner.
