The complete crew of Apollo 11 -- the first mission to land on the Moon: NEIL ARMSTRONG, BUZZ ALDRIN, and MICHAEL COLLINS fully authenticated set of vintage signatures on handsome, rare original STAR TREK Flight Deck Officer Commission document. The document features the starship Enterprise background, and bears facsimile signatures of fictional Commander "James T. Kirk" and Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry on behalf of "StarFleet Command". The certificate is authentically signed along the bottom by all three Apollo 11 crew members!
This is the only such example of an Apollo 11 and Star Trek crossover we can find in more 40 years of collecting. A true, one-of-a-kind autograph rarity.
Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins all boldly sign the document in which "Ray F. Wack is hereby commissioned as Flight Deck Officer on the United Space Ship ENTERPRISE, the above named officer having given proof of superior judgement and abilities, an having indicated a willingness to engage in hazardous assignment, is order to report immediately for STAR TREK duty."
According to the original owner, the STAR TREK commission certificate was included in a plastic starship Enterprise model sometime around 1968-69 already bearing the two facsimile signatures of Kirk and Roddenberry. His parents completed the document by entering his name with his dad improvising the fictional "45-42-9" stardate. Fascinated by the space program, the original owner had the idea to have the Apollo 11 crew sign it and had his mom dispatch it with a personal request to Armstrong's wife or mother. Some time later, he received the signed piece back after the astronauts exited their stay in quarantine.
