Apollo 12 splashed down at 2:58 p.m. (CST), Nov. 24, 1969, near American Samoa following a successful mission. During the historic 10 day mission, Bean had served as Lunar Module Pilot, walking on the moon, while Gordon was the Command Module Pilot, orbiting above.
