Legendary American Aviation pioneer, Captain CHARLES LINDBERGH autograph honorary luncheon invitation on tan stock featuring a plane in flight over a vast body of water. Beautifully signed by Lindbergh alongside the image depicting his history-making solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean on May 20, 1927.
Given in Lindbergh's honor on February 5, 1928 during a stop in Santo Domingo on his goodwill tour of Central and South America, the 26 year old aviator had flown to Santo Domingo the previous day on his birthday where he was given the key to the city and attended a reception by President Horacio Vasquez.
Just 9 months earlier, on May 20-21, 1927 Lindbergh had made the first non-stop flight from New York City to Paris, flying alone for 33.5 hours, thus completing the first solo transatlantic flight aboard the Spirit. Lindbergh's flight is widely regarded as one of the most consequential in history and ushered in a new era of air transportation between parts of the globe.
