This original airmail cover commemorates two Shuttle Intercept Training flights aboard the supersonic Northrop T-38 Talon, the aircraft that every astronaut trained in, and is boldly hand-signed by Francis Richard “Dick” Scobee, the beloved astronaut who would later serve as Commander of the ill-fated STS-51-L Challenger disaster mission on January 28, 1986.
