Weaver played in the minor leagues, without ever having played in Major League Baseball (MLB) He progressed through the minor league system before going on to become a manager in the Major Leagues with the Baltimore Orioles, winning a World Series championship in 1970. A 3-time Manager of the Year, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996.
