Legendary United States Army Officer and "Little Bighorn" casualty GEORGE CUSTER handwritten autograph envelope addressed to his wife, and signed in the third person as, "Mrs. Genl Custer / Monroe / Mich", on a Fifth Avenue Hotel embossed envelope, postmarked May 8, from New York.

On June 25, 1876, while leading the 7th Cavalry Regiment at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in Montana Territory against a coalition of Native American tribes, he and all of his regiment—which included two of his brothers—were killed.
