Perhaps best known as the singer/guitarist for the GRATEFUL DEAD, Garcia was a also a talented visual artist as well, completing a series of limited edition prints that showcased his talent and versatility. In subjects ranging from wild, colorful abstracts to surreal images of dragons, he displayed his quirky sense of humor as well as his exceptional artistic ability. Garcia would typically only sign his prints as they were sold; Consequently, when he passed away in 1995, there wasn't a stockpile of signed pieces. For that reason, his authentic, hand-signed artwork is highly collectible today.
