KING GEORGE III Autograph CUT SIGNATURE Engraving Signed * England * PSA/DNA
Guaranteed Authentic
The last Monarch to rule the American colonies, KING GEORGE III of England, handsome, striking reproduction antique engraved portrait with mounted cut signature removed from an official royal document. The King signs as "George R".
In 1773, George III passed an act taxing tea in the colonies. Angered, the Americans complained of taxation without representation and staged the Boston Tea Party, leading to the start of the American Revolution in April 1775 with the Battles of Lexington and Concord – and the beginning of the end of George's reign over the colonies.
The GEORGE III autograph has been thoroughly examined and CERTIFIED AUTHENTIC BY PSA/DNA EXPERT EXAMINATION, and encapsulated using PSA/DNA's proprietary sonically-sealed technology. UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED GENUINE. An investment-quality acquisition for any collection.
Condition is as shown. Signature exhibits stains, wear and blemishes consistent with age, use and handling. Small tear to image field at mid left margin, not significantly impacting display. Portrait including cut signature measures appx. 6" x 10" inside 10" x 13" encapsulate. Some instances of "Newton's Rings", (a harmless byproduct of the PSA/DNA encapsulation process resulting in "bubbles") as seen on the back of the slab. Please review all images carefully for exact condition.
