Scarce, Early "KNUTE ROCKNE, NOTRE DAME" Cut Signature
Legendary Notre Dame football player and Head Football Coach KNUTE ROCKNE authentic handwritten cut signature signed in pencil as, "K. Rockne, Corby Hall, Notre Dame, Indiana" almost certainly while young Rockne was a student at the University, circa 1910 - 1914. Rockne lived in Corby Hall for 3 years before graduating. An ideal association piece between Rockne and his celebrated "Fighting Irish" alma mater.
Following graduation, Rockne stayed at Notre Dame as a chemistry instructor and football Assistant Coach before becoming Head Coach. Leading Notre Dame for 13 seasons, Rockne accumulated over 100 wins and three national championships before dying tragically in a plane crash in 1931 at just 43 years old. Today, he is buried at his beloved Notre Dame University.
