APOLLO 11 Command Module Pilot MICHAEL COLLINS stunning signed color photograph – "Eagle's Ascent" – of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module high above the lunar surface with Earth visible in the background, in PSA/DNA encapsulate. Collins inscribes the photo in black marker alongside Eagle, "To Ross - Michael Collins / Apollo XI CMP".

As Armstrong and Aldrin ascended from the surface of the moon, Collins took took a photo of the approaching lunar module, 'Eagle'. With the Earth behind the lunar module, Collins is the only person in the universe not in this single, remarkable historic image. At that moment he is also the single human being furthest from our planet with only the void of space behind him. 

Condition is as shown, with previous signs of mounting on verso. Photo measures appx. 8” x 10” inside 10" x 13" encapsulate. NOTE: several examples of "Newton's Ring" appear on the reverse side of the encapsulate (the rings that look like little air bubbles trapped inside) – a harmless byproduct of the slabbing process, not affecting the autograph or image.
