All signatures were obtained in-person at the annual "Light Up The Blues" concert for Autism Speaks, presented by the Indianapolis Colts, Greek Theater, Los Angeles, April 22, 2023. Paul McCartney did not perform, but attended the concert. The signatures on the guitar were collected by Stephen Stills who gifted the guitar to Jim Irsay.
McCartney has signed comparatively few guitars on the body like this one. Even the vast majority of McCartney guitars signed on scratchplates are cheaply made from signed blank pages which amateur collectors have cut out and pasted to the guitars. Those guitars can be identified by the "cut" designation on Letters of Authenticity. The population of legitimately signed McCartney guitars is extremely limited.
The JIM IRSAY COLLECTION was a legendary, multimillion dollar private archive of 20th century American popular culture and music history assembled by the late Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay. It featured approximately 200 historically significant guitars alongside historic pop-culture artifacts. The guitar features a laminated maple body with metallic blue finish, the maple neck with bound East Indian rosewood fingerboard with pearloid 'thumb print' inlays, gold-plated hardware, with original Gretsch hardshell case, manufacturer’s warranty and quality control cards.
