40th President of the United States RONALD REAGAN hand-signed and inscribed portrait AS PRESIDENT. Reagan writes, "To Van 2 - With Best Wishes / Ronald Reagan" in bold black marker across the bottom.
"Van 2" is almost certainly referring to the President's traveling Press Pool, which accompanied both Reagan and the First Lady on trips across the country. Several names are annotated in an unknown hand on verso, including Mary Anne Fackelman – an American photojournalist and the first woman to serve in an official capacity as White House Photographer. She initially covered First Lady Rosalynn Carter and other general events during the Carter Administration. Fackelman was then assigned to Nancy Reagan after the 1980 election.
