THEODORE ROOSEVELT BEAUTIFUL NAVAL APPOINTMENT SIGNED 5 MONTHS BEFORE ASSERTING US NAVAL DOMIANCE 


Legendary 26th President of the United States THEODORE ROOSEVELT hand-signed naval commission. Signed boldly by Roosevelt with a full signature at the bottom of the document. The naval commission appoints Owen J. Mink to the rank of "Passed assistant surgeon in the navy with the rank of lieutenant". Signed by Roosevelt July 8th, 1907 and additionally signed by the acting Secretary of the Navy Truman H. Newberry. Blue seal to the lower left remains fully intact.


Notably, Roosevelt himself served as Secretary of the Navy and cared deeply about it. Just five months after signing this document Roosevelt launched his "Great White Fleet", a monumental show of American naval power where 16 battleships sailed around the world to assert the US as a dominant naval force.
