$1,450.00

Guaranteed Authentic

26th President THEODORE ROOSEVELT and 27th President WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT dual autograph cut signature partial document signed by both, removed from a Presidential military appointment, circa 1905. Roosevelt signs as current President while Taft countersigns as his Secretary of War. A superior pairing of Presidential signatures.

Roosevelt believed Taft was his logical successor as President, although the War Secretary has initially been reluctant to run. Roosevelt used his control of the party machinery to aid his heir apparent, however Taft's conservatism angered Roosevelt, so he later challenged Taft for the party nomination at the 1912 Republican National Convention. While Taft and his conservative allies narrowly prevailed, Roosevelt rallied his progressive supporters and launched an unsuccessful third-party bid. The two men eventually reconciled, post-Presidency.

Both the Taft and Roosevelt signatures have been thoroughly reviewed and authenticated by PSA/DNA EXPERT EXAMINATION and encapsulated inside PSA/DNA's sonically-sealed, tamper-evident holder. UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED GENUINE.

Condition is as shown with light toning. Page has been previously trimmed, and exhibits signs of age, use and handling. Some fading to the 'lt" in Roosevelts signature where it would appear the ink ran dry, as shown. Cut measures appx. 2.5" x 9.25" inside appx. 5.5" x 12" encapsulate.

A once-in-a-lifetime, remarkable, investment-grade acquisition for the history aficionado, autograph or political collector, or Presidential buff.

Sold as is, as shown.
