Legendary "Wizard of Menlo Park" and American Inventor THOMAS EDISON brief handwritten note on lined paper signed with an exceptional large last name as simply, "Edison".
This note was written to his son, Thomas Edison, Jr.'s wife, Beatrice, affectionately referred to as "Bee". He inquires:
"Bee / What was this Advertising / Edison"
With 1,093 U.S. patents to his name, Edison is regarded as the most prolific inventor in American history. He was also a prolific note writer, whether for ideas or inquiries, whether for family or lab workers, carrying special 3.5" pencils designed to fit in his vest pocket. In the 1970s it took a team of historians a full year just to find all of his notes, going from building to building at his West Orange laboratory.
