From the personal collection of ALAN BEAN, Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 12, comes one of a select few Apollo 12 Patches FLOWN TO THE MOON. The patch is inscribed on the back "Flown to the moon Alan Bean 15 May '87". The patch is also accompanied by an original handwritten letter of provenance bearing the same date on the reverse of the patch. The letter from Bean that reads in part, "I am enclosing our crew patch from the Apollo XII mission. We took this patch to the moon with us...".
Lunar flown items from early Apollo missions such as Apollo 12 are extremely rare. Astronauts only began to take significant amounts of items with them aboard later flights such as Apollo 17.

I am enclosing our crew patch from the Apollo XII mission. We took this patch to the moon with us and I want you to have it for you collection.

Alan Bean"
Patch is in beautiful condition. The letter has mail folds as well as a torn corner that was repaired by a previous collector with tape, not affecting content. Letter is otherwise in good condition.
