Adams writes the entire portion of text above the seals in his own hand. This portion of document is the concluding page of a document concerning the sale of lands in Braintree, Massachusetts.

Notably Adams recognizes his life under the King he would famously reject writing “in the fifth year of the reign of George the third of great Britain, France and Ireland King &c“.
