"Dracula" Author BRAM STOKER (1847 - 1912) authentic handwritten letter on "Mr. Henry Irving and the Lyceum Theater Company TOUR" letterhead, dated October 10, 1888. NEARLY 40 WORDS ENTIRELY IN STOKER'S HAND - and signed by actor Sir HENRY IRVING.

 

During his lifetime Stoker was perhaps better known as the personal assistant of IRVING and business manager of the Lyceum Theater in London, which Irving owned. He frequently wrote the letters for renowned Victorian actor Henry Irving which Irving then later signed.

FACT: Some literary scholars say that Stoker's tumultuous friendship with the charismatic Irving is said to be the true inspiration for the story's characters of DRACULA and VAN HELSING.
