Guaranteed Authentic

APOLLO 12 Lunar Surface-Flown sterling silver crown tie tack from the personal collection of astronaut and Lunar Module pilot Alan Bean. The tie tack is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from Bean's daughter, Amy, who attests to the tie tack's flown status to the surface of the moon aboard the lunar module Intrepid as part of the Apollo 12 mission. This tie tac spent 31 hours on the lunar surface.

Made of sterling silver, the Bean tie tac measures appx. .5" x .25" x .75"

Launched on November 14, 1969, Apollo 12 was struck by lightning twice during the first minute of flight before going on to perform the second successful human landing on the moon during which Bean became only the fourth man to walk on the lunar surface.

Condition is as shown. The tie tack artifact is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Amy Bean certifying that it originated from her personal collection.

A remarkable investment-quality addition to a museum, executive office, or for the space collector and aviation fan. Apollo flown artifacts are scarce and highly desirable and some of the scant few items that have ever traveled the 240,000 miles between the two planets.

Sold as is, as shown.
