Legendary author, outdoorsman and journalist, ERNEST HEMINGWAY fantastic, undated "Merry Christmas - Happy New Year" Holiday card from Ernest and Mary Hemingway signed by Hemingway himself adding "Mary and Ernesto" in his hand. The card was sent from Hemingway's house in Cuba where he wrote some of his most acclaimed books such as: The Old Man and the Sea and For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Hemingway sends holiday greetings from his beloved Finca Vigia farm in Cuba, atop the hills outside of Havana. With added inscription in red pencil added by Mary Hemingway, "Recuerdos - Saludoz, Abrazos" ("Memories - Greetings, Hugs") in Spanish, the card is denoted at lower left as being dispatched from "FINCA VIGIA | SAN FRANCISCO DE PAULA | CUBA".
MARY WELSH HEMINGWAY was an American journalist and author who was the fourth wife, and widow, of Hemingway. After their wedding, Mary lived with Hemingway in Cuba for many years and after, until his death in 1959 in Ketchum, Idaho.
