American composer George Gershwin inscribed and signed card 5 months before his tragic death. Gershwin has inscribed the card "For Madeline All good wishes, George Gershwin Feb. 1937". Authentic autographs from Gershwin are highly desired and scarce due to his untimely passing from a brain tumor at the age of 38. Certainly one of Gershwin's final autographs likely signed at his final performance.

GEORGE GERSHWIN * PSA/DNA * Autograph Card Signed 5 Months Before Death in 1937

Guaranteed Authentic
Gershwin's last public appearance was a performance on February 11, 1937, he performed his Piano Concerto in F in a special concert of his music. Gershwin, normally a superb pianist in his own compositions, suffered coordination problems and blackouts during the performance. At one time Gershwin fell fully unconscious for a period of 10 - 20 seconds. We think it is highly likely this autograph was signed at Gershwin's final concert. In Gershwin's final months he became very ill and just a few autographs dating from this time period have ever surfaced.
