Fantastic Tolkien Signed Letter: "I hope soon to publish more about the world of The Lord of the Rings..."
Tolkien is widely regarded as the father of modern fantasy literature due to his rich storytelling and the creation of the fictional world of Middle-Earth. Besides the well-known HOBBIT and LOTR Middle-Earth related works, he wrote more than 29 books, and translated or contributed to 36 more books and 39 periodicals. The figures indicate that sales of Tolkien's books have surpassed $600 million.
Tolkien writes in-part:
"Dear Miss Strain,
Thank you for your letter and for sending on that of your niece. Kathy’s confidence that her aunt can find out anything seems to be justified. It gives me great pleasure to hear from readers of my books, and her letter as well as your own was much appreciated
I hope soon to publish more about the world of The Lord of the Rings, but I am afraid I have little enough time to complete the work of various kinds that I have undertaken, let alone to write for my own amusement, much as I should like to continue writing further histories.
Yours sincerely,
J.R.R. Tolkien"
