Ruby Asks A Friend to Pick Up His Sister - Seemingly Hinting at the Fallout of Having Killed Oswald..."Harold you will never know what she has been through"
Lee Harvey Oswald’s assassin and infamous Dallas nightclub owner, JACK RUBY, scarce undated handwritten autograph letter in pencil, signed, "Jack". Ruby pleads for a friend to pick up Eileen at the train depot. Almost certainly written by Ruby from jail, Ruby typically wrote notes to friends and his attorney on similar notecards while serving time in jail.
Ruby writes to "Harold" (perhaps Harold Tannenbaum, a fellow nightclub owner and friend). Jack's youngest sister was "Eileen Kaminsky"; It is unknown if this is the same Eileen that Ruby was referring to in his letter, however, in the Warren Commission Exhibit No. 1187 it's noted that his sister had taken a previous trip to visit Jack where, "she traveled round trip by Santa Fe railroad..."
"Eileen plans to take the train (Thurs 12:30, and should arrive in Chicago I believe around 2:30 P.M. Friday, please try and meet her at the depot. Harold you will never know what she has been through. Once again please for my sake be good to her. Jack"
Ruby was initially handed the death sentence by a Texas jury for the Oswald shooting but won an appeal for retrial, however, he would die in prison before he had a chance to plead his new case.
