Wheeler to the National Advisory Committee on the Selection of Physicians, Dentists, and Allied Specialists. JFK signs with a fine fountain pen ink signature. With original White House mailing envelope. Kennedy signs this letter just 3 months after the failed Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba.
Dr. Wheeler was a Dentist, maintaining a dental practice in the District of Columbia. The National Advisory Committee on the Selection of Physicians, Dentists, and Allied Specialists was a Federal advisory body that advised the Selective Service System on the drafting of medical professionals during the Cold War era, including during the administration of President Kennedy.
