JFK signed letter stating "...the three most difficult words in the English language were, 'I was wrong'" regarding a discussion on nuclear disarmament.

Legendary 35th President of the United States JOHN F. KENNEDY remarkable hand-signed letter on United States Senate letterhead, in which JFK, quoting poet James Russell Lowell, admits, "...that the three most difficult words in the English language were, 'I was wrong' ". Kennedy found value in a segment with Hubert Humphrey discussing nuclear disarmament. Kennedy signs informally as, "Jack" at the conclusion.

Writing to TV host and "Meet The Press" moderator, Lawrence E. Spivak, Kennedy had apparently doubted the value of the content of the Sunday afternoon political affairs television program on NBC.

The topic of the June 1st, 1958 episode of Meet the Press which JFK refers to was a segment with Kennedy's political rival Hubert Humphrey discussing nuclear disarmament. This was a topic Kennedy would come face to face with 4 years later during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

A fantastic content letter, with JFK noting that in admitting that he was 'wrong' for questioning the show topic, "..as yesterday's program was an extremely worthwhile contribution towards a greater understanding in this sensitive area. In addition, you were superb."

Kennedy continues, "I should have known that when Spivak puts his hand to the plow his furrow is always straight."
