Legendary 35th President of the United States JOHN F. KENNEDY fantastic content authentic autograph letter dated January 7, 1955 on United States Senate letterhead, signed "Jack", remarking on his recent hospitalization, with scarce additional handwritten addendum. Includes original mailing envelope.

JFK writes to longtime Kennedy family confidante and childhood friend Helen Keyes. Keyes would later serve in his administration and presidential campaigns. Kennedy adds an additional handwritten postscript: "Many many thanks Helen for your nice letter. I hope to see you soon."  JFK closes in noting that "Jackie and I want to wish you and all your family a very happy and successful New Year."

In 1954, JFK faced severe hospitalizations for his chronic back pain, likely from wartime injuries, culminating in a major double-fusion surgery in New York where he nearly died from postoperative infections. Kennedy later left the hospital in December on a stretcher to continue his recovery, which led to writing Profiles In Courage.
