PRINCESS DIANA & KING CHARLES III ORIGINAL SLICE OF CAKE FROM THEIR 1981 ROYAL WEDDING
A tangible artifact of one of the most fabled weddings in history:
An actual slice of the preserved 1981 wedding cake of then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana, in its original ornate Buckingham Palace presentation box, dated July 19, 1981. The cake is wrapped in its original white paper doily. Accompanied by an authentic, original silver foil embossed Buckingham Palace Wedding Breakfast card from the day of the Royal Wedding.
The cake slice is accompanied by a deteriorated enclosure card that would have originally read, "With best wishes from Their Royal Highnesses The Prince & Princess of Wales".
The royal wedding cake was a traditional fruit cake with cream cheese frosting, and took 14 weeks to prepare. One of 27 prepared for the reception, the cake was served with each guest receiving two slices – one to eat, and one to keep as a souvenir of the special occasion.
Condition of the cake slice and packaging is as shown. Presentation box measures appx. 4.25" x 3" x 1". NOTE: Cake is not suitable for consumption. The cake, cake box and wedding breakfast card are all original from the wedding in 1981.
