Legendary Hollywood sex symbol and American cultural icon MARILYN MONROE superb authentic autograph Marilyn Monroe Productions check in vintage framed display, signed just under a year before her untimely passing. Monroe makes a payment dated August 30, 1961 to "Herman's Empire Moving & Storage Co." for $133.50. Signed by Monroe in black pen at lower right.


In August 1961, Monroe was still recuperating from gallbladder surgery, following a tumultuous first half of the year that included a divorce from playwright Arthur Miller, hospitalization for psychiatric care, and serious health struggles. Monroe had founded Marilyn Monroe Productions during this time to allow herself more creative freeing and control over her project. She was not filming however, having last appeared in The Misfits – her final completed role – which was released in February 1961.
