Legendary French aristocrat, Military Officer and international hero GILBERT DU MOTIER, the MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE, autograph cut signature mounted to a handsome portrait Limited Edition custom card, signed as "Lafayette". Very bold signature from Lafayette especially given it's near 200 years of age!
The signature has been reviewed and graded NM-MT 8 by PSA/DNA expert analysis. A PSA rated NM-MT 8 is considered a "super high-end autograph" with only minor flaws, according to the PSA/DNA website.
This is the same portrait of the famed French Revolutionary War hero that hangs in the Entrance Hall of Blair House, the President's Guest House across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House. General Lafayette was America's first visitor of state, entertained by both James Monroe and John Quincy Adams at the White House.
The Lafayette signature has been thoroughly reviewed and CERTIFIED AUTHENTIC BY PSA/DNA EXPERT EXAMINATION. The signature is encapsulated inside PSA/DNA's proprietary sonically-sealed, tamper-evident holder. UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED GENUINE.
Condition is as shown, with irregularly trimmed cut, in otherwise fine condition. Custom card measures appx. 3" x 5" enclosed in 4.25" x 7.25" encapsulate. Lafayette's signature measures 0.5" x 0.75".
