FANTASTICALLY SCARCE PAIRING OF BOTH WRIGHT BROTHERS SIGNATURES ON THE SAME PAGE
American aviation pioneers and co-inventors and builders of the first successful aircraft, ORVILLE & WILBUR WRIGHT, exceptionally scarce autograph page signed by both with large, bold signatures, in vintage framed display. Signed on the letterhead of Percival W.A. Fitzsimmons, and annotated in the margin in an unknown hand as, "Received Jany 21/1910". A virtually unobtainable combination of both Wright signatures on the same piece with only a handful of other items signed by both coming to market in the last two decades.
Wilbur Wright is particularly scarce in autograph content, having died of Typhoid at the relatively young age of just 45 in 1912, just two years after signing this document.
Percival Fitzsimmons was a prominent Michigan financier, bibliophile and collector as well as Secretary & Treasurer of the Tecumseh (Michigan) Bicycle Club. Before turning their focus to aviation, the Wrights originally were prominent bicycle designers, builders and retailers opening the Wright Cycle Exchange in Dayton, OH in 1892.

The Wright Brothers signed sheet underwent a full professional conservation treatment in 1997, including washing and deacidification, a valuable and desirable service ensuring the document will remain bold and visually appealing for years to come.
Condition is as shown, with a horizontal fold line, vertical crease, some additional subtle creasing along the lower edge, and uneven discoloration; Not examined outside of frame. The document is museum hinged to Bainbridge Artcare mat board, matted under Crescent rag board, and presented framed and under conservation glass. Visible size appx. 3.625" x 7.75"; Frame dimensions 11.25 x 14.75". Frame is in good used condition.
