Deakin / 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards / M.E.L.F." Major General Cecil Martin Fothergill "Peter" Deakin was a British Army Officer. Deakin was commissioned into the Grenadier Guards in January 1931. The Grenadier Guards are one of the most senior infantry regiments in the British Army, frequently providing security for the palaces.
With additional handwritten notation, in pencil, from Deakin indicating, "Personally written to me by the now Queen Elizabeth II." With further notation in unknown hand indicating recipient was "'Peter Deakin 1910-1992".
