40th President of the United States RONALD REAGAN authentic autograph letter dated February 2nd, 1982 on embossed White House letterhead to childhood best friend Bill Thompson regarding a birthday present sent to Reagan. Reagan signs in bold black marker at conclusion using his boyhood nickname, "Dutch".
It is said that shortly after his birth, Reagan's father said he looked like a "fat little Dutchman", reinforced when he wore a Dutch boy haircut as a youngster – and thus the nickname "Dutch" stuck.
