40th President of the United States RONALD REAGAN handwritten letter sent from the campaign trail just one month before beating Jimmy Carter in the 1980 Presidential election. Reagan writes to his childhood friend Bill Thompson in his hometown of Dixon, Illinois. Written by Reagan on his personal "Ronald Reagan" letterhead, annotated by Thompson in the lower right as being received on Oct. 3rd, 1980 - just weeks before his debate with Jimmy Carter.
Regan has written:
"Dear Bill & Jean / It was good to hear / from you and I have / your (?) about Lowell / Park. / Thanks for the / clipping. / Best Regards / Dutch"
