19th President of the United States, RUTHERFORD B. HAYES authentic autograph short handwritten note from his estate dated, April 4, 1892. Just 8 months later, Hayes would pass away at his beloved Spiegel Grove family estate.
Hayes writes:

Hayes served in Congress from 1865 to 1867 and was elected governor of Ohio, serving two consecutive terms from 1868 to 1872 and half of a third two-year term from 1876 to 1877 before his swearing-in as president in 1877. Post-Presidency, Hayes declined to run again, preferring to preserve party unity and retire to private life at the family estate, Spiegel Grove.
