Legendary American writer and humorist SAMUEL L. CLEMENS highly desirable autograph calling card in handsome, vintage framed display signed as his pen name / alter ego, "Mark Twain". Clemens signs the calling card of Mr. Howard R. Handy of New Brighton, Staten Island.
Howard R. Handy was Vice President of "Pottery, Glass and Brass Salesman", a trade paper published in Manhattan. It is unknown how he happened to meet Twain.
