26th President the United States THEODORE ROOSEVELT typewritten letter signed on The Outlook stationery, dated August 26, 1912 to B.S. Webb, Justice of the Lisbon, NH Police Court. An intriguing letter from Roosevelt signed during his candidacy as a member of the Progressive Party AKA Bull Moose Party.

Roosevelt sends an uncharacteristically lengthy letter assuring Mr. Webb that his particular speaking request has been forwarded and will be given all consideration subject to his busy but limited schedule. Signed at conclusion as "Faithfully Yours, T. Roosevelt".

1912 was a consequential year for TR, having been nominated as Progressive party ("Bull Moose") candidate for President that same month in August, and then two months later is famously shot while delivering a campaign speech – which he nevertheless continues to complete – even while bleeding.

Outside of politics, Roosevelt was an Editor for The Outlook, a small but influential weekly journal of opinion, following the presidency. As Editor, Roosevelt was a prolific author, writing with passion on subjects ranging from foreign policy to the importance of the national park system. Roosevelt continued to serve The Outlook until 1914, before transferring his editorial work to the Metropolitan.
