THEODORE ROOSEVELT * PSA * Autograph Rugged Photo Portrait Signed * 1911

$2,995.00

Guaranteed Authentic

Striking, dramatic autographed Harris & Ewing portrait of Roosevelt dated August 18, 1911. TR writes, “To Scott C. Bone with all good wishes from Theodore Roosevelt Aug 18 1911”. T.R. signs with a bold, large 4.5" signature. In 1911, Roosevelt became a contributing editor of the Outlook magazine.

Scott Bone was the fourth territorial Governor of Alaska. He is perhaps best known for making the decision to use dog sleds to transport the diptheria antitoxin 674 miles in the now-famous 1925 Serum Run, from which the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race stems. Bone was the editor of the Washington Post, founded the Washington Herald, and was a friend of Presidents Harding, Taft and Roosevelt.

This dramatic, beautifully inscribed photograph captures the Rough Rider staring intently at the camera, late in his extraordinary life, still full of vigor and goodwill post-Presidency. This portrait radiates presence, a tangible reminder of TR’s unbreakable spirit and his lifelong habit of reaching out to others with warmth, courage, and hope.

The ROOSEVELT signed photo has been thoroughly reviewed and CERTIFIED AUTHENTIC BY PSA/DNA EXPERT EXAMINATION and encapsulate using PSA/DNA's proprietary sonically-sealed technology. UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED GENUINE.

Condition is as shown with some paper loss, toning at edges and ink bleed from moisture. Previous signs of mounting to verso. Portrait itself measures appx. 6.75” x 9.5”, inside 10” x 13” encapsulate.

NOTE: several examples of "Newton's Ring" appear inside the back of the encapsulate (the rings that look like little air bubbles trapped inside) – a harmless byproduct of the slabbing process, not affecting the photograph or autograph.

Own a remarkable, original piece of Political and Presidential history! The perfect acquisition for the Presidential collector, T.R. fan, autograph enthusiast or History buff. An excellent addition to any collection.
