Also known as "Teddy", or "T.R.", Roosevelt was the President of the United States from 1901 to 1909. At 42, hewas the youngest President in American history, and forever changed the office by having held it two terms. Changed too, by Roosevelt, was the name of the building in which the office was located. Called the "Executive Mansion" ever since Lincoln first printed presidential stationery, Roosevelt formally changed the name to the “White House” – reflecting what people had been informally calling it since 1810.
