WINSTON CHURCHILL SIGNED RUSSIAN RUBLE ATTRIBUTED TO THE YALTA CONFERENCE

Highly desirable 5 Russian Ruble currency note signed by Churchill across the reverse of the bill. The note originates from the collection of a crew member of Churchill's custom made aircraft the Avro York LV633. While the signature is not dated it is documented that Churchill took the Avro York and its crew to Russia in 1945 for the Yalta Conference. During this period Churchill signed several other Ruble notes to commemorate the occasion. 

Churchill initially used a converted B-24 Liberator bomber as his personal transport, however this wasn't very comfortable, so when the third Avro York was rolled out in February 1943 it was converted into a VIP transport for the Royal Family, the Prime Minister, and other dignitaries. Churchill was very keen to start using 'his' York, (now named 'Ascalon' after St. George's sword).

Condition is as shown. Bill is in used/circulated condition, with toning and tape at edges consistent with age, use and display. Russia Ruble note measures appx. 3.5" x 7" inside 4.5" x 9.5" encapsulate.
