Soviet space heroes and legendary Russian Cosmonauts YURI GAGARIN and VALENTINA TERESHKOVA fantastic black & white USSR Cosmonauts group photo. An exceptional pairing of the autographs of the first man and woman in space, along with six other key Russian space pioneers.

Signatures include Yuri Gagarin, Valentina Tereshkova, Pavel Popovich, Gherman Titov, Aleksei Leonov, Valery Bykovsky, Boris Yegarov & Andriyan Nikolayev.

GAGARIN was a Soviet pilot who became the first person in history to journey into outer space. Traveling on Vostok 1, Gagarin completed one orbit of earth on April 12, 1961 with a flight of 108 minutes. Vostok 1 was Gagarin's only space flight. Fearful that a national hero might be killed, Soviet officials banned Gagarin from further space flights, however Gagarin later died in a MIG-15 crash on a routine training flight. His ashes are interred in the walls of the Kremlin.

Widely remembered as the first woman in space, TERESHKOVA flew a solo mission on Vostok 6 on June 16, 1963. She orbited the earth 48 times, spent almost 3 days in space, is the only woman to have been on a solo space mission and is the last surviving Vostok program cosmonaut. She remains the youngest woman to have flown in space, and the youngest woman to fly in Earth orbit.
